Abstract:

The article gives a brief historical overview of the development of the system of children´s medicine in Russia in the prerevolutionary period. Raised aspects of this issue: the allocation of paediatrics in certain medical industry, the organization of medical aid to children in Tula province, the role of the state and professional medical associations in protecting the health of minors. Presents biographies of leaders of medicine of the Tula region, who contributed to the design of child health as an independent field of medical science.
