Abstract:

The role of the frontline Vladimirovsky district of the Astrakhan district of the Stalingrad region (now Akhtuba district of the Astrakhan region) in ensuring the victory over the enemy near Stalingrad is considered. Its strategic importance as the most important link of transport ways to Stalingrad, base of river fleet, part of the General system of communication and management, army and front rear is defined. The contribution of the population to the victory is revealed, and also examples of labor feat of the people and heroism of soldiers in a critical moment of the great Patriotic war are given.
