Abstract:

In the article, the role of the individual in history is considered from the standpoint of the idealistic approach. The author proceeds from the premise that the source of historical changes is human creativity, which is based on ideas created by human consciousness, therefore the main role in history belongs to a creative thinking personality. Consciousness, mind and spiritual life are the basis of human activity, changing the social and physical surrounding world, creating his-tory. The greatest historical role is played by those people who created ideas, guided by which mankind has made the greatest changes in its historical development. In the article, from the standpoint of idealism, signs and a hierarchy of the significance of outstanding historical figures are given. It points to the crucial role played by the worldview in determining the role of the individual in history. From the standpoint of the idealistic approach, it is asserted that the creator of history is not a faceless «people», but concrete individuals who put forward ideas and organize their realization with the help of the people. Factors influencing the magnitude of the individual and the conditions for its realization in history are determined.
