Abstract:

The article analyzes the stories of American writer Mark Twain through the prism of sociological knowledge. A large composition of the characters of the works, which occupy different social statuses, is given. The social structure of the American society of the XIX century is shown. The entrepreneurial activity of wealthy people in different aspects is revealed. The role of religion in General and Christianity in particular in the development of American society is analyzed. It is said about the writer´s attitude to such a phenomenon as war. It is argued that mark Twain had an impact on future generations of science fiction writers. It is mentioned that mark Twain remains a brilliant humorist.
