Abstract:

The author considers the role of the Telescope magazine in Russian journalism in the early 1830s. Particular attention is paid to the circumstance of the appearance of the journal, the editorial board, employees and readers. By analyzing the materials published in the journal, the political and ideological direction of the journal, as well as its relationship with censorship, is determined. As materials for writing the work, the author uses sets of issues of the magazine for 1831—1836.
