The analysis was carried out of the historical-and-cultural approach to the study of pottery traditions proposed by A. A. Bobrinsky. The main source of information was such stages of production as: selection and preparation of the initial plastic raw materials, molding pasts, surface treatment methods, firing methods. Since the starting materials are in a fairly wide chronological and territorial range, the results obtained can become the basis for comparing ceramic complexes in further studies.
