Abstract:

The author of the article makes an attempt to consider the Far Eastern problem of expanding and consolidating Russia´s position in the Far East. At present, given the aggravated severity of the problem of territorial claims, the authors reveal the history of relations between Russia and Japan in order to make it the property of a wider reading public. The purpose of this article is to awaken interest in the Far East and outline the essence of the Russian problem in the Far East as it can be depicted to us in the context of a general perspective of international relations in the Eastern Hemisphere, where the center of the world economy is now being transferred, and with it, of course, politics.
