Abstract:

The Livonian War is most often assessed by historians from the height of the historical path. In the dispute, the historical and political interpretations of different states and historians. Great importance is attached to this event for the fate of the states involved in the conflict. The historical event had a significant length in time, was associated with the political map of Europe on the eve of the New Time. This war began as a phenomenon of medieval social reality, and ended in modern times. The descendants began to touch the experience of this war to substantiate their claims. Therefore, the result and assessment of the war in retrospect of history turned out to be more significant for posterity than for its founders. Discussion of long-standing events also has a political and ideological flavor today. The article is devoted to the problem of reliability in the interpretation of the ethics of history.
