Abstract:

The article on extensive archival material analyzes the moods of peasants who moved to the eastern outskirts of Russia before the outbreak of World War I, and then decided to return in 1917. An attempt is made to show the motives closely related to the revolutionary events of 1917 for their return to European Russia.
