Abstract:

The article is devoted to the interpretation of the witch theme in the work of the master of the Danube School, Albrecht Altdorfer. The author analyzes the feature of the artist´s manner as an expression of the nature of the work. For interpretation, the author considers the historical and cultural context associated with the literature, art of that time and the activities of German humanists — contemporaries of the artist.
