Abstract:

The research of specificity of the Chinoiserie faience the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th centuries by the Nevers manufactory from French is based on the comparison of several samples of French faience painting and their prototype, Chinese porcelain of the same period. The samples are from museum collections and private collections, including the Ariana Museum, famous for its kind collection. The subject of the study was cultural diffusion and variants of its manifestation in the subjects and techniques of European faience painting. Nevers faience in the Russian-speaking science is little known and virtually unstudied; the present study of the chinoiserie faience of this manufactory opens a topic for further development.
