Abstract:

The article examines the history of the use of female names in the naming of weapons in the twentieth - early twenty-first century, gives a brief overview of such names, identifies possible reasons, the history of attaching the female name to various types of weapons and equipment. The conclusion is made about different ways of assigning "female" names to weapons, including associative transfer, the consonance of the abbreviation of the name with the name and others.
