Abstract:

Tolstoy house in Yasnaya Polyana and in Moscow was a centre of music culture. The Tolstoys instilled the love of music in their children. Tatyana and Maria Tolstoy played the guitar and the mandolin. Alexandra sang Russian folk songs accompanying with the mandolin. Ilya Tolstoy sang gipsy romances. Sergei L. Tolstoy was a talented composer. Music traditions were kept in the life of writer’s grandchildren and great grandchildren
